A NIGHT IN WITH THE STARS

Nick & Carrie Baker (Captain Jack Sparrow & Madonna - you decide who's who!) kindly invite The Garforth Wheelers and their partners to a 'Night in with Stars' Fancy Dress Party over at their house in Selby

The date is Bank holiday Monday 27th December. Tuesday is also a Bank hol, so no need to worry about work next day!

There will be a disco / Karaoke and fancy dress as a 'star' is compulsory! Starts 7pm, finish 1am

Please RSVP Myself (philip.deane@rrd.com) & Nick (nickbaker@njbservices.co.uk) so I can organise a seat on a minibus / coach and Carrie knows how many sarnies to make.

CHRISTMAS ‘DO’ REMINDER

As you should be aware by now, this year we have booked the Country Club on Aberford Road in Garforth. (opposite Gascoigne pub) on Friday 3^rd Dec. 7:30 – 12pm

A slightly different format this year where we will be having a Disco & Buffet.

There will also be opportunities throughout the evening to part with a bit more of your ‘hard earned’ with a fun & games provided by Mick Kenally & Co!

There will be the Annual Trophy Presentations – Please let me know of any nominations you may have for “Clubman of the year’ and ‘Most Improved’. Let me know of any other categories you feel should be honoured and these will be given due consideration!

If you haven't got your tickets yet, they are available @ just £10.00 each from myself or Mick K. Please feel free to bring along any family or friends to join in with the festivities! If you require tickets on the night, please confirm numbers with Myself or Mick prior to the night so we know numbers in advance.

CLUB AGM notes

Thanks to all who came.

We agreed the following:-

1. Subs at £20

2. Current balance of accounts is £312

3. Elected Phil Deane as president elect, Bob Annetts and Mick Kennally as Vice Presidents elect and Steve Green as Treasurer elect.

4. Club kit - a few items are left namely 1 XL l/s, 1 L shorts, 1 XL s/s and 1 L s/s shirt

5. We also agreed to pay the Club shirt bill from club subs and accounts.

Xmas 2010

Mick has booked the country club at Garforth for the Wheelers Xmas buffet do. £10 a ticket with further details coming from Mick K. All welcome friends and family..

Leyburn this weekend

Meet in the main square at Leyburn for 08:30am. There are two rides, ride one featuring a turn off at 48miles making 55 miles in total Ideal for group B. Ride two is 80 miles. Cafe at 40 miles after the two big climbs. Nick has rec-cied the route and it is described as rolling at first with hills later. Ideal for Majorca training.

Boro Bridge ride tomorrow

Great ride today folks thanks for coming, weather and roads were excellent. It was well within the capabilities of all the group A and B, its a shame folks don't want to support us!!!

FYI we were back at 13:30 in Garforth!

Group B is now group C demoted, not enough wheelers points facing relegation :-)...

Seriously though its disappointing not to see more members out today :-(

tomorrow starts at 8:30 in the last lay by of the a168 old A1 from wetherby to boro bridge, please get there on time.

its 55 to 60 miles top, to masham, with a cafe stop there and return to old A1.

Good to see you all there and get the support of the club..

2010 trips

Sunday May 9th Majorca 7am out of Leeds Bradford on Jet 2, landing at 10:35, return the following Sunday on 11:25 to Leeds landing at 13:10. Steve G is the organiser of this trip.

Hotel Antillas Sol 4* half board, 22 booked thus far, there are spare places available.
